About me
I have always enjoyed making anything I write as accurate as I can. On a daily basis I spot errors in news articles, websites, books, and it feels good to be able to help improve other peoples’ writing to make it as good as it can be prior to publication or submission.
My sound grounding in spelling, grammar and punctuation was drilled into me by an excellent English teacher at my secondary school in Kent. Teaching English as a foreign language to students following qualification through CELTA, the Cambridge Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults, further honed my accuracy with the English language. Having a degree in English Literature and Geography from Bath Spa University, and a Masters in Volcanology and Geological Hazards from Lancaster University, I am familiar with academic writing. I have undertaken the Proofreading: Introduction unassessed course, and passed the Proofreading: Headway assessed course through the CIEP, the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, to qualify me in proofreading. I now enjoy living in Lancaster.
